Schiphol
Amsterdam Schiphol Airport is the main international airport for the whole of the Netherlands, and the Schiphol railway station is located beneath the terminal complex, which is where the Eurostar train terminate. Both are near Amsterdam city centre. Direct trains to Amsterdam Central Station are available from platform 3 for around €3.80, and take 20 minutes. Trains run per hour and nightly. The Schiphol traffic-tower is one of the highest of the world and was completed in 1991. Trains between Ebbsfleet and Schiphol run around twice a day.Eurostar trains between Ebbsfleet International and Schiphol have average journey times of 3 hours, 31 minutes; the route passes throuh Lille and Brussels. Travel to the Netherlands via high speed rail is an easier and more comfortable means of fast travel. Schiphol Amsterdam Airport is also so popular because it has such extensive facilities, and visitors travelling on to nearby Amsterdam can take advantage of all the facilities
Public and Transport Links
There is a VVV Holland Tourism Information Office in Arrivals hall 2 that offers information and an accommodation reservation service. Schiphol Travel Taxi: from Schiphol Airport to Amsterdam City Centre for a standard rate of 39 euros. Visitors are advised to agree on the price before getting in the taxi at the airport.
Buses
Bus terminals are from the Schiphol Plaza in front of the Arrival and Departure lounges.
Schiphol Sternet, with high frequency from early in the morning until late in the evening and a night service. On average, travel times to and from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol are under 30 minutes. Commuters can take advantage of the special rush-hour lines. There is also the Sternet-operated Interliner rapid bus connection in the Schiphol region. The Interliner 370 line runs between Alphen a/d Rijn, Leimuiden, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Amsterdam Zuid and Amsterdam Centre (Leidseplein).
Zuidtangent, regional express bus service that makes use of special bus lanes, reducing travel time. There are two lines:
Line 300 between Haarlem, Vijfhuizen, Hoofddorp, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Amstelveen, Ouderkerk, Amsterdam Zuidoost (nightly, and at least 6 buses per hour).
Line 310 between Nieuw Vennep, Hoofddorp, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Amsterdam Buitenveldert (at least twice an hour; four times an hour between Nieuw Vennep).

Airport Facilities
There are a whole host of different options for travellers and people waiting. Schiphol has 3 lounges and 3 halls; information desks are located in halls 2 and 3 in Arrivals; and behind passport control in Lounges 2 and 3 (also in Schiphol Plaza). Bureau de change facilities are widely available throughout the airport, along with a variety of different banks and cash machines. Postal services are located in Lounge 2.
Luggage
Lost property is kept in the basement between Arrivals 1 and 2, with an office in the airport itself. There are lockers throughout the airport, but Seal & Go also offer a sealing service for luggage. Free trolleys and a porter service is available on request.
Shopping
Schiphol Plaza is the main shopping complex, with everything from cosmetics to model airplanes, and including duty free shops; fashion boutiques; newsagents; flower shops; gift shops; music shops; and many more it is very popular with day tourists. Duty free shops are only available for travellers with a boarding pass. The airport will store purchases over 20€ until passengers pass through on their departing flight.

(Italian), Pronto Icecream bar, Segrafredo Café, Vlaamse Frites (authentic Dutch chips and snacks).
Holland Casino Schiphol
Holland Casino Schiphol is the only one in the world located inside a major international airport. There are over 80 slot machines, three roulette and blackjack tables, a smaller outpost in the Bubbles Lounge. Table bets are capped at $280 and start as low as seven dollars.
Children and Families
Baby changing facilities are available in all toilets, and there are playgrounds located in the Hollywood Boulevard, including Kids’ Forest: A series of wooden treehouses free of charge (adventure playground).
Panorama Platform
The L-shaped terrace, which is free to use, has two Heineken bars and telescopes to see the planes arrive and depart. There is a triangular lift that transports visitors back into the main airport complex. Each section of the terrace is approximately 100 metres long, and the whole structure is open from 9-5 in winter and from 7-8 in summer.
Communication and Technology
Multiphone multimedia telephone units are located throughout the terminal with touch-screen features for airport information, and mobile phones are available for hire from the Telecom Rentcenter. Wi-fi is an option in the Communications Centre. The Schiphol Business Centre has offices equipped with fax to let, computer, telephone, and a secretarial service. Also available are: mini-offices; a telephone centre with full telecommunication facilities and the Skyport Business Centre.
Rijksmuseum Amsterdam Schiphol
The art and history museum (free to the public) opened this annex in 2002, making it the world’s premier airport museum, containing paintings by Jan Steen, Jacob van Ruisdael, and other Dutch masters. Temporary exhibitions throughout the year feature work on loan from the city museum’s permanent collection, including works by Rembrandt and Frans Hals.
